Walter Robert Rhodes is an honest, trustworthy, and fair man. He has shown continued ability to lead and has been ahighly respected leader throughout the years. Evidence of his leadership is shown not only during his military service, but through his years of continued employment with Alcoa, through his dedicated work with his church, and most importantly as a leader of his family.He has maintained a high level of respect from all who know him in all these areas of his life. He is a person who would never ask anyone to do anything that he would not do himself.

Walter Robert Rhodes has shown his love for hiscountry. His service in the Army during the Korean War often put him in life threatening battles, yet he persisted and remained steadfast through all battles and obstacles. His outstanding military service earned him numerous medals including the Purple Heart,the Distinguished Service Cross,the Bronze Star and the Silver Star.

Hecontinues to show his dedication to his country by volunteering with the Military Order of Purple Heart. He supports many other veterans' organizations and is also a member of the American Legion Post #1, AR Veterans Coalition, Disabled American Veterans, the Korean War Veterans' Association, and the National Order of Battlefield Commissions. He gives presentations to schools, colleges andlocal and civic organizations regarding the Korean War, and all presentations have been received with great enthusiasm.

He works with veterans who are in homes but had previously been homeless. He helps provide them with household goods (dishes, furniture, linens, etc), clothing,and other daily necessities. The aid he provides these veterans has helped them regain a feeling of normalcy in their home.
