lst Lt. U.S. Army, {OF100706}, Vietnam War-Lt. Godwin was killed in action by small arms fire during Operation Harrison on 3-4-1966 while serving as an Infantry Unit Commander with Co. A of the 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. Lt. Godwin started his tour of Vietnam on 7-8-1965.

Lt. Godwin is the beloved son of the late Mr. Harry & Mrs. Louise Godwin of 417 Louise Street, El Dorado, Arkansas, and he reenlisted with the Army on 5-24-1964.
