Sergeant First Class Carl Glenn Mosby was born in Cash,
Arkansas, and currently resides in Jonesboro. Sergeant First Class Mosby served
with the U.S. Army in Vietnam. His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal
and two Army Achievement Medals. Upon retiring from the Army in 1986, Mosby has
been active in various veterans' organizations including the Veterans of
Foreign Wars, the American Legion, the Disabled American Veterans, and the
Craighead County Veterans Monument Foundation.
Sergeant First Class Mosby regularly visits veteran
residents in the county's three nursing homes, often purchasing comfort items
such as pajamas at his own expense. He also annually sponsors a boy and girl to
attend the American Legion Boys and Girls State. Additionally, he conducts an
annual flag etiquette presentation to local schools' 5th and 6th graders,
presenting each with an American and an Arkansas flag, which he purchases
himself.
Sergeant First Class Mosby participates in the Arkansas
State University ROTC and the county's junior ROTC banquets by presenting the
VFW award to selected cadets. He has also actively driven the DAV van,
transporting veterans needing transportation to the Memphis VA.
